VOLUNTEERING

This organization is run solely on volunteering and is vital to our existence. Based on the number of families and number of hours needed throughout the season, each family is required to sign up for at least three (3) volunteer spots per season. Volunteer sign up is done at equipment pick up.

REGISTRATION

You will need to provide copy of a current physical, copy of either a current report card or a hard copy of the student info page from Skyward Family Access. All players will be required to provide a copy of a birth certificate as children 15 years of age and older cannot participate. Since we are not a part of the school district or South Lyon Recreation department we do not have access to physicals that may have been turned in to them. We need an actual hard copy for our records. A child cannot participate (practice or play) until these records are in hand.

Parent and players must agree to and sign LCAJFL conduct forms.

FUNDRAISING

Each participant is required to sell $20.00 (per family) of raffle tickets. Tickets will be given out at equipment pickup. This year’s drawing will be held at the Panther Jamboree in August.

Parents will share duties bringing water to practices and games.

Parents need to make sure that your child is dropped off prior to the start of practice and picked up promptly at the end of practice.

This list is a summary of activities that parents are required to follow and participate
in. There are other volunteer opportunities within the organization that can be found in
the Panther By-Laws.

ODDS & ENDS

• You will have an opportunity to meet your coach and fellow teammates prior to the start of practice. This “meet & greet” will be held in late June or July depending on the coach’s scheduling. At this time you will receive information regarding team specific guidelines, practice format, and other pertinent information.

• Equipment pick-up is scheduled the 2 Saturdays prior to practice - July 25th & August 1st. Your coach will inform you what time your team is scheduled. Football and Cheer/Pom will be held at the same time. Your child must attend in order to be properly fitted. Kids will need to try on equipment.
  
  
• Practice starts August 3, 2009. Freshman and JV football practice will take place at Lyon Township Park(LTP) (58000 Grand River) from 5:30-7:30 pm. Varsity practices will be held at South Lyon High School (1000 N Lafayette) from 5:45 – 7:45 pm. Practice is Monday – Friday until the first game; Tuesday-Thursday thereafter. Players must participate in 5 days of conditioning prior to any contact drills (LCAJFL Rule). All cheer/pom practices will take place at LTP (58000 Grand River).
   
• Game schedules are determined by the LCAJFL and will not be available until late August. The last two weeks of the year are determined by the records of the varsity teams. Schedules are also determined by field availability around the LCAJFL. Some communities do not have the same field availability as other communities and may have to play more or less home games.
   
• Play-off games will be organizied at the end of the season between the South Lyon Panther teams only. The games will start the week after the end of the LCAJFL league season. Games are tentatively Tuesday, Thursday, with a Championship game on Saturday. Dates are TBD.
   
• Equipment return - ALL equipment must be returned. Families that have not returned equipment will not be in good standing. This can put voting rights and veteran status in jeopardy.
   
  
• Refunds - Refunds (less $15 administrative fee and $50 jersey fee) will be given to players that drop before the first practice. Players that receive refunds will also receive their jerseys. There will be absolutly no refunds given after the first day of practice.
